Atomic level cargo scanner?

Yep, some MIT men are working on it…

As you can see, the man above is one of the men who’s developing this thing.

Its a device (or lets say a system) that scans objects in atomic level… Which can basically tell the difference between a TV and a Nuclear bomb!

As the article explains (And as I understood), every element has somekinda signature that the system can pick up and analyse…

While X-Ray scanners only takes a 2D scans and images, this can detect whats inside the cargo more accuratly…

The good thing is, it can detect whats inside without the need to open it and even if it was shielded with led…

Lets just hope that one day, these guys will develop something for our Ministry of Communications so they wouldn’t open up our packages and decide for themselves randomly if the package’s contents are offensive\illegal\harmful =P
