Arabic domains are finally here.. sorta

Today, the saudi non-profit organization SNIC, which is in charge of managing the country’s top level domains, announced the actual dates for registering domains under the new ‘.السعودية’ top-level domain.
By doing this, saudi has become the first country in the world to announce a final date on which registration would proceed for a non-english top-level domain.

I can’t help but feel happy for these guys. They worked hard and now it’s paying off. That’s more than what I can say for our “20KD/year .net only .kw”.

A quick off topic question, is saudi giving its citizens domains for free? if so, why not kuwait?
