And now, the Microsoft Research team came up with a new concept that (as they described) would be better than LCDs… Lets just hope they do it right…
LCDs wouldn’t show good pictures under direct sun light, and has 25~40 milliseconds delay to switch between black and white which would cause some blurry images and all…
In Microsoft’s concept, they’re using telescopic mirrors and light emmiting diodes with the ability to switch colors in 1.5 milliseconds… 16 to 26 times faster (if my calculations were right… Which I usually fail…)
The whole idea is about using these mirrors to alloy light to pass or block light from passing…
LCD screens allows around 5% to 10% of the light to pass through which kinda needs some larger amount of power to light and all, while Microsoft’s telescopic screen allows 35% to pass through…
