I own facebook! i got hacked!!

Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of facebook and largest shareholder got his fan page hacked!

just as facebook assures its user that its safe, someone hacks mark’s fan page!

it happened last night!

the following message was posted last night using mark’s account:

“Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Price [sic] winner Muhammad Yunus described it”

whatever that means, for me it means one thing.. facebook isn’t safe! thats why I keep anything private away from there.

At faceook they claim it was a bug that made the hacker able to post using mark’s name on his fan page.

Joe Sullivan, chief security officer at Facebook, said in a follow-up interview with ZDNet UK’s sister site CNET News. “It was a very limited bug in that it only applied to the ability to post,”

Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at internet security firm Sophos. says:  “Mark Zuckerberg might be wanting to take a close look at his privacy and security settings after this embarrassing breach. It’s not clear if he was careless with his password, was phished, or sat down in a Starbucks and got sidejacked while using an unencrypted wireless network, but however it happened, it’s left egg on his face just when Facebook wants to reassure users that it takes security and privacy seriously. Maybe Mr Zuckerberg would be wise to get a refresher on computer security best practice.”

regardles of facebook’s claim, am sure it was hacked and it wasn’t just a bug, maybe Mark did do something careless, but who knows

pics and a  video of the incident can be found here

keeping in mind that few days earlier French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s Facebook account was also breached.
