Damaging and washing the wall wouldn’t break this magic. And it lasts lifetime.
The brighter you go the efficient it becomes. You use it just like any other paint (Which means you don’t coat your paint. No, you use it as a paint itself).
The more paint you use the more efficient it is. If it started to fail you, you can whether re-apply the paint or just paint over it using the same paint.
