Nexus S, … an enhanced Galaxy S I say!

So Samsung released the their first – yet second – Google phone Nexus S, Nexus One by HTC being the first Google phone! It’s manufactured by Samsung and runs Google Android OS – without any Samsung modification – no TouchWiz, no Swype!

Many people are going for this phone because of the fact that it runs the latest android firmware, 2.3 – Gingerbread and that it’s manufactured by Samsung which is known for its powerful hardware, especially the GPU! And the fact that this phone is also the first phone to ship with Gingerbread might also be a factor for some people to buy it!

Although most people know the specs by now, but here they are:

  • 4″ Super AMOLED multitouch capacitive touchscreen
  • 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird – ARM Cortex A8 CPU
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 16 GB internal storage

I think Nexus S is a lot like Galaxy S from both perspectives, hardware and design! I’ve realized that while watching an unboxing video! The guy also commented on that!

When it comes to the design, all they did changed that I noticed is moving the micro USB port and the headphone jack from top to bottom – which is more practical! That, and the fact that they added a flash alongside  the back camera! The buttons has also changed a bit, there are no physical buttons on the front side anymore! As a Galaxy S owner I can say, all changes they made were corrections for their mistakes on their Galaxy S device – I definitely like the changes!

If you’re interested and would like to see “what’s inside”, you can check out these guys; they have completely teared down the nexus S! (Thanks @_bashar for sharing!)
