Eye-shaped Camera

Yonggang Huang of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, developed an eye-shaped camera. It’s curved like human eye.

The reason behind developing such camera is the desire to build camera sensors that bends. Normal sensors are flat and if bent, it will break. But this camera doesn’t because its made from square parts with electronic components and photodetectors connected by tiny wires that allows the whole thing to bend.

As Huang described, normal surfaces usually gets a clear image in the middle and un-clear image in the sides. But the curved surface gets a clear image in the middle and sides…

Its main purpose is to be used to monitor human body and other areas that a normal cameras couldn’t be used in…

It works pretty well on computers, all whats left is how to connect it to a human brain…
