From all the literal approaches I can think of, I NEVER thought of that one!!
A guy name Ronald needed a chip and found it in an old hardware and he lacked the good stuff to remove it… What a man do? DIS!!
And yes, the board survived… And so did the chip =D
To me, I’d only refer to this option if I’m totally in need… Or else, I’ll just get a hot air gun.
