VIA ARTiGO Pico-ITX

Ofcourse, everyone uses a computer (almost)… But there are people who just use it to watch videos, play musics, check email and browse the internet… So, are you finding the space that the computer takes annoying? The Mac’s iTV costs like crazy? Got FastTelco Internet service but wasn’t lucky t get the Mac iTV?

Here’s the deal:

As small as the picture above… Buy the kit, buy a RAM (DDR2 533MHz), buy a Hard Disk Drive (PATA… Or the common “IDE” name)

Unfortunately its not available in Kuwait… Gotta order that fun-pack which costs $299… Pretty cheap in price… And actually I’m planning on getting few of those for my own fun…

Here’s the VIA ARTiGO Pico-ITX link.

Arresting the “World Fastest Office Chair”!!!

Germany won’t have enough weirdness…

http://www.geekologie.com/2007/07/24/office-chair-bike.jpg

This is not related to the article... Just a funny picture that I think it might fit http://www.geekologie.com/2007/07/24/office-chair-bike.jpg

Some 17-years old kids invented as the German Police described “what may be the world’s fastest office chair”…

They made it by adding bicycle breaks, metal frame and a lawnmower engine… I mean thats what idleness could lead to…

They might be charged for several violations; defying insurance regulations, driving without license and violating registration requirements…

Bad thing they didn’t share the top speed it reached… But seriously, these fellows shouldn’t be harmed because they’re idle and were creative and productive… They should be invested in other stuff to improve things…

I’m sure we have such people in here that’d have a huge amount of idle hours which needs to be invested to improve this “moving backward country”… But who’s actually giving a hand? I’m sure there are some institutes, societies and others who’s actually giving hands not just a hand… But that’s not really enough… WE NEED MOAR HANDS!! MOOOAAAARR!!!

Anyways, Here’s the Associated Press link.

Useful Teddy Bears!!

A way to make use of your Teddy Bear (or basically any stuffed animal you have in home) to watch over your house while you’re away…

The Sampson family in Liverpool set a camera inside a Teddy Bear in their home due to theft issues…

Thelma (The mother, 75 years old) felt that some cash is being stolen from her purse in her house. So Robert and Emma figured out a way to see whats going on by getting a DIY Teddy Bear with a camera stuffed inside…

Long story short, the thief was their mother’s new carer (since the mother has cancer)…

Too lazy to explain things. So Click Here to follow the BBC Link.

Once again, DIY proved its usefulness.

Cheap USB Fridge

No need to describe more… Here’s the Instructables link.

Radiation could treat cancer

This goes to those who have\had cancer…

Dr. Ralph Weichselbaum in University of Chicago Medical Center led a study which discovered that radiation could zap spreading cancer…

As experimented on 29 patients, 10 lived, 9 lived around 20 additional months… Thats a good number for something in experiment…

First Zero-Watt Monitor

I know that Fujitsu Siemens are awesome (even though their laptops looks bulky’n'ugly)… But I never saw that coming…

Fujitsu Siemens is now ready to ship their Zero-Watt Monitors… THIS IS CRAZY!!!

I think this would go pretty well with out “Tarsheed” thingy we’re facing here in Kuwait…

USB 3.0 “Dummies” guide is finally out!

I remember reading some articles in Engadget that went something like this:

Intel isn’t sharing any details about their USB 3.0 so other corporations could develop devices which supports such technology. And in defence, Intel was still developing the USB 3.0 that’s why it didn’t share or reveal any detail. Which kinda pissed other companies off like AMD, nVidia, Via and SiS to develop their own stuff…

Now, Intel FINALLY revealed their royalty free USB 3.0 Dummies guide. So now everyone can build their stuff to support USB 3.0

If you want to actually start messing around with it, Follow this link

Now, since they released the stuff, I wonder what will “The Four Amigos” would do with what they’ve being working at… Will they just drop it off and go back to USB 3.0? Or do what Sony did and start PlayStation when Nintendo abandoned them?

Here’s the Intel related link.

Making the internet faster by slowing it!?

Remember my post about invisibility cloaking research?

Well seems like they’re going to use the same concept to fasten the internet by slowing it down.

The idea is that there’s a big bottle-neck between the speed of light (Fiber-Optic thingy) and the speed of electronics… C’mon we cant even compare… Huge difference… So delaying the light abit might reduce the cost and reduce the process needed to process the incoming light to these electronic devices…

I’m sure I’m not making any sense… So here’s the BBC Link related to this news
