From Xbox360 to Military? Microsoft wouldn’t think so..
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in FUN!, Kuwaitism, Microsoft, RAND(), SECURITEEH!!!, Video games, Xbox 360 on February 20, 2010
I just imagined some kid yelling “OMG!! SOMEONE JUST SHOT MY DAD!!” playing MW2 and then respawn somewhere…

You probably know that USA’s military are training their troops using PC games (So you don’t have to wonder why American soldiers are bunny-hopping instead of walking\running). But they wanted to take it to another level by switching to Xbox360 when Microsoft said “NO!” for the following reasons (Not in order though):
1) Console shortage due to over demand.
2) Buying crap load of consoles with a single game per console isn’t much of a profit.
3) Bad reputation. You don’t want your kid to spend his time with a device that trains military… Really, they’d shoot you one day with a marshmallow gun if you don’t hand them candy somewhere in near future!
I wonder if this actually happened in Kuwait. I’m quite sure Kuwait Police will buy Xbox360 and kick in GTA, Forza for our driving schools, MW2 and Ace Combat 6 for military, Rababa Hero (FUCK! Now I wish this game exists!) for music institutes and FIFA\Winning Eleven for our football sport clubs (Yet they’ll still suck) =P
Trexa Electric Car Platform
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in Concepts, Kuwaitism, Motors, RAND(), SCIENCE!!, Technology on February 19, 2010
Ever wanted to build your fantasy car but you’re having insufficient mechanical knowledge or money to hire people to do the job? Well, It’s here =D

Trexa has released their “Electric Car Platform” that cost something around $15,000 which is literally the car’s base. All you need now is to build your pillow fortress on top of that platform… I mean your car body.
This platform can go as fast as 100mph, can do 0-60mph in 8 seconds, charges in 4 hours and can drive for around 105 miles in a single charge.
I’m quite sure I’ll blow up Kuwait’s power stations if I bought that and brought it here… Let your “Nabeeh a5′6ar” go to hell!
Adam Tablet
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in Apple, Concepts, Exploring Computerism, Gadgets, Kuwaitism, Technology, android on February 19, 2010
Well, if you’re hyped up about the new iPad, you should hold your money until this baby is out.

Notion Ink are releasing their Adam tablet which be a better investment than buying an iPad… Yes, I know people who are willing to buy that lame crap gadget.
Anyway, Adam Tablet will feature 1080p video output, nVidia and Pixel Qi screen that boost the battery life atleast as twice as iPad’s, it’ll have Android and they’re figuring out Flash support.
Must I buy a bigger bag and anticipate this device to carry it alongside my laptop and camera?
NOTE:
Don’t get the wrong idea regarding my iPad’s comment. I hate Apple products with passion, yet I respect them while excluding the iPad because it’s such a huge disappointment as a device.

MOJOLOATORS in Salmiya’s Starbucks
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in FUN!, Kuwaitism, Music, Photography on February 12, 2010
Simply put, I had a little hard time taking sharp photos due to the following reasons:
* Camera’s limitation. I reached’em
* The spot light weren’t on because it would really heat things up (Temperature-wise)
* They were good that I couldn’t stop my feet from stomping and my booty from shaking. And yes, I have a HUGE butt to shake (Disturbing?)
Anyway, I ended up with these 5 pictures (I have others stored in my laptop\computer, but they’re repeatatives and all).
Hope you liek =D
Pictures from Al-Hamra Tower
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in FUN!, Kuwaitism, Photography, RAND() on February 10, 2010
Thanks to Al-Hamra Tower’s marketing manager, I was able to experience height shots and I’m probably going to do it again.
These are the only 5 pictures I saved out of 180-ish pictures I’ve snapped which failed because I’ve never done something like this so I was abit confused.
Anyway, here it goes:
Hope you enjoy’em =D
I wonder why people say Kuwait is boring…
Someone is making some ads for Q8GEEKS.ORG!!!
Posted by Anxious Nut in Announcements, Kuwaitism, RAND() on February 10, 2010
History
Last year,2008-2009, I was taking some extra lessons after school, every day I had to pass near Jaber Hospital, the one near Hateen and Al-Zahra (currently under-construction). Almost every time, on the billboard/wall, I wrote “Q8Geeks.org” and some of our names “Q8geek”, “AnxiousNut”, “SIGTERMer”, and “Fencer Darkwind”(The old members) by removing some of the dust off the wall. I always thought that those will never be read by any geek, I just did it to waste time till I get to the end of the sidewalk.
Today
I was walking with Q8BKman on the Jaber Hospital’s sidewalk when I realized that there were some advertisements on the same billboard I used to write on, I WAS SHOCKED because they were also about THIS SITE!!. I knew these are not mine, they seem “fresh”. So apparently there is a person(or more) with us here that was writing these. At first, I could only read “8 geek”, but then after we walked a little bit more, it all was there.
This is funny in a way, probably he/she said that no geek would read it, but WRONG, I DID!! lol. What really confused me is that there wasn’t any sign of who might have this person be, no nicknames until I found one … a useless one. It was “Mr. Dollar”!!! But thanks Mr. Dollar
and can you tell us who you are?
See, this web-site is becoming popular!! Congratulations everybody, you too Mr. Dollar!
Evidence
It’s still there if you want to check them out, if it’s worth it from your point of view! BTW, we added some “Q8GEEKS.ORG”s and one “Anxious Nut”!
Al-Hamra Tower, here we come =D
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in Announcements, Kuwaitism, Photography on February 9, 2010
Well, I managed to secure permission to climb Al-Hamra tower and taking pictures of Kuwait from the highest spot in Kuwait as well as taking pictures of the highest building in Kuwait.
I managed a list of 10 amateur photographers who’d grasp this chance as an educational opportunity. It will be my water tester so if it worked perfectly, I might get another chance and invite more people.
Wait for our pictures =D
INFOCONNECT 2010 sucked hard!!
Posted by Loolykinns Teh P1r473 in Exploring Computerism, Kuwaitism, Stupidity, Technology on February 1, 2010
To be honest, the ONLY good things that happened to me there were stealing a mug, pen and a stress ball from Pitman and buying Windows 7 Professional…

Anyway, lemme go back with history abit…
The first INFOCONNECT I went to was back when I was 16 years old (Somewhere around 2001) and it took 3~4 halls there filled with AWESOME companies like ATi, GFI (Yes, I dropped my jaw when I first saw’em) and big companies that were actually SHOWING THEIR TECHNOLOGY not just selling shit…
Now you go there, and you’ll feel like you’re in Hawalli… But instead of having a walk down the street to find a good shop, they just crammed them in one hall while the other hall shows the government computer-gadgets and some corporate dealers…
Now, I’ll leave the government\corporate thing aside (Even though one small hall is totally unfair), I’ll just bitch about the other hall where they held the computer\mobile crap…
The first INFOCONNECT I went to was amazing that I bought my first computer book (Visual Basic 6) there, someone gave me a prototype ATi RAGE (Can’t remember the VGA card I had back then… C’mon, it was 9 years ago!) driver for Windows XP that provides initial support to OpenGL so I can play Counter-Strike v1.3
and had a talk with GFi dudes which enlightened me about some security topics…
Then things started to go down the drain…
Now when you go there, you’ll find mobile phone shops (And they almost sell the same shit with a slight difference in prices), crappy computer hardware (Laptops\Desktops\Accessories) and some junk…
And the offers there aren’t that special neither that great; I bought Windows 7 Professional for 64.500KD!! I mean, 0.500KD cheaper than the market (I could’ve bought 10 Chocolate Father Stars with’em though)… THERE ISN’T A SINGLE BOOTH THAT SELLS MAC STUFF TO MAKE FUN OFF!!! No really, not to JUST make fun off, it shows how uninteresting this event is!!!
I mean, there was a HUGE difference between last year’s INFOCONNECT and this year’s INFOCONNECT… Last year’s had some Mac booth that almost convinced me that Mac OSX is more convenient for me than Windows… Then I came up with some critical questions that froze the dude I was talking with…
Literally speaking, INFOCONNECT now is nothing but Hawalli shops crammed together in a tiny hall where they sell their junk for a bit higher prices… Nothing but a shop-fest…
But truth to be said, I’m surprised that I’ve seen a Bitdefender booth there that I will end up buying something from there tomorrow morning hopefully…
If you have some good connection to the guys managed this event, please tell’em they suck…
If you went there and you still like things there, I pity you…
If you didn’t go there yet, DON’T!! You’re not missing anything (Except for the VIVA 3G mascot… That made me lol so hard)…
If you have good connection that can pull off a better event where technologies are actually shown off, PLEASE DO!!!
