Quadri FX3600M on Alienware Area-51 m15x?

Thats right… Finally Alienware got to be the very first laptop with an nVIDIA Quadro card!!

For those who doesn’t know what’s Quadro, It’s a video card that a CAD person would bow for (and maybe sleep with his boss to get him one…)

But as a draw back, you gotta add $600 more on that baby… But it worth it!!!

You think Kuwait got the Highest Internet Cost? THINK AGAIN!

I got an RSS Feed from Slashdot which stole my interest.

Some writer mentioned that the Internet connection at the Olympic Media Village (Beijing Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games) costs like crazy!

As the writer described; 512kbps costs around 1130USD… Which is around 300KD!!!! Well, I’m sure they have their reasons to do such thing…

Anyways, Here’s the Slashdot Link

Friday’s beach cleaning: Day 2

Well, I don’t have pictures to provide in this post, but oh well…

It happened in Friday… Had to wait for three days hoping that the facebook group posts something but they didn’t, maybe they’re just busy on something… I trust the admins in there…

Anyways…

We had this deal that we’d gather by 16:30 and start cleaning by 17:30…

eLeet passed by my house, went to eat some Falafel from our CO-OP, bought some bags and Latex gloves (Glad we got the large sized ones… And sorry for forcing you to buy the non-powdered ones man) and reached the spot around 4:45… No one there… I was close enough to run away because we’re late and no one is there… Thats what we thought =P

Someone waved his hand from far ahead and happened to be one of the admins… Then everyone arrived later…

The very interesting thing, 3 newcomers arrived… which was like WOAH!! And the very (un)interesting thing is that 14 people arrived from 104 confirmed approval of arrival thingies including me, the admins, my friends and the 3 newcomers… I mean c’mon, It’s much better to see 20 people approving and 17623518723658127 not approving when 13 of the those who approved arrives… Atleast a big amount of people kept their word… No need to give false hope or whatever…

Anyways… We started to clean things out, but the beach was LOADED with families… But why not? It’s Friday…  We thought of picking up the far easy part to clean, but we picked the close crowded side to clean… And here’s what happened (Well, what I witnessed):

*   DAIPERS!! LOADED DAIPERS!! DAIPERS THAT ARE SO HEAVY!! LIKE A DAIPER OF A BABY WHO ATE 2 PLATES OF KABAB!!
*   Chicken bones, sandals, plates, glass plates, underwears and other normal stuff (Yes, I consider glass plates and underwear normal stuff)
*   ZOMBIE FISHES AGAIN!!!
*   Cute little girl who helped us by handing us er family’s trash… I swear that was really touching (DONT GET THE WRONG TOUCHING IDEA!!! I MEANT EMOTIONALLY TOUCHING YOU IDIOTS!!!)

But thanks to my sickness (fever), I only collected 2~3 bags… I had to take a big break… I almost fade out…

However, our guys collected around double of last time’s amountWhich didn’t look like we made any accomplishment, but we did… Because the amount of trash was unimaginable…

The good thing, some families actually started to gather their own trash in one big bag (one man handed me some broken bottles… It’ll be a fugly scene if a kid step on that)

The bad thing, some families started to throw their trash near us so we’d pick it up… Now thats just mean and ill-mannered, isn’t it?

Well, It started as helpless as we’re about to give up, and ended up acomplishing almost as double as what we acomplished last time with +3 members

I really appreciate the work our guys accomplished. I mean, even when I went down they kept on pushing themselves further and did a great job cleaning things off… I’d like to apologize to whatever latency I caused due to my illness and all…

I just hope we could do it another time… It’s fun for me… I’d do it again and again…

xTablet T8700 really works underwater

This is AWESOME! A tablet computer that works underwater… Interesting…

Such tablet computers could be used for underwater research or rescue operations (if a GPS thingy was fitted inside or something)

Anyways… Here’s a movie showing you a diver with some wet suit dragging one of those underwater while working on it

Plans to cool your PC with Refrigerator

As a habit I developed, I check Engadget daily…

Which reminds me of a habit of waking up around 7am (because I usually sleep by 3am or so) being thirsty… So I go to the fridge to drink some water…

But never thought that one day, I might keep the water inside my computer to cool off (maybe others did that already having some good cooling system)

Purdue University Researchers are working on some miniature refrigerator to be placed in your computer… So noisy huge fans and risky’n'annoying liquid cooling systems would go bye bye

Here’s the Engadget link

New screen concept by Microsoft that’d rival LCDs

I respect Microsoft with everything they made. From MS-DOS to Windows Server 2008 (including Windows Vista)…

And now, the Microsoft Research team came up with a new concept that (as they described) would be better than LCDs… Lets just hope they do it right…

LCDs wouldn’t show good pictures under direct sun light, and has 25~40 milliseconds delay to switch between black and white which would cause some blurry images and all…

In Microsoft’s concept, they’re using telescopic mirrors and light emmiting diodes with the ability to switch colors in 1.5 milliseconds… 16 to 26 times faster (if my calculations were right… Which I usually fail…)

The whole idea is about using these mirrors to alloy light to pass or block light from passing…

LCD screens allows around 5% to 10% of the light to pass through which kinda needs some larger amount of power to light and all, while Microsoft’s telescopic screen allows 35% to pass through…
