I am posting this as I’m upgrading my Windows 7 from BETA to RC…
Microsoft is suggesting fresh installing Windows 7 RC, but since it’s a hustle to move files and settings (atleast 100GB worth of data), there’s a little hack I found at “LifeHacker” that linked me to some website that described the hack.
It’s basically like this:
After downloading the ISO file and burning it in a DVD (Or in my case, copy the ISO’s content in a Flash drive and), go to “DRIVE:\sources\cversion.ini”, change the “MinClient” to “7000.0” then run the setup and choose the “Upgrade” option…
The only reason to do this hack is to upgrade from Windows 7 BETA to Windows 7 RC since Microsoft is recommending a fresh install for Windows 7 RC… I would go for that if I didn’t install much stuff on my Windows 7 Beta…
Anyways, Click here to read the LifeHacker post, and click here to read the workaround.
